Drivers along San Francisco’s 19th Avenue can expect delays during the weekdays starting on Monday as Caltrans crews begin a construction project, with the first phase lasting through late January.
Starting Monday through Jan. 28, 2021 the project will affect 19th Avenue’s southbound lanes between Lincoln Way and Lawton Street between 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, Caltrans officials said.
Drivers can expect parts of the west-most southbound lane to be closed during the upcoming construction work hours.
The construction is part of a larger project happening along 19th Avenue that will last for 27 months. The project aims to replace and rehabilitate water and sewer mains and make upgrades to the city’s Emergency Firefighting Water System.
The project also aims to make pedestrian and transit improvements like sidewalk bulb-outs, widened sidewalks at bus stops, and traffic signal improvements.
During the construction, parking may be affected and crews may detour traffic, Caltrans officials said.
