Five people escaped unharmed from a burning building Tuesday morning in East Oakland, a fire official said.
The fire was reported at 6:06 a.m. behind a separate structure at 1910 International Blvd., Oakland fire spokesman Michael Hunt said.
Ten minutes later, the fire went to two alarms, but about 30 minutes later it was under control. The building is a total loss, Hunt said. The cause of the blaze is undetermined, he said.
