With a heat advisory in effect, the Santa Clara Senior Center will open today as a cooling center to help residents escape high temperatures, city officials said.
The center is located at 1303 Fremont St. and will be operating as a cooling center from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The National Weather Service issued the Heat Advisory as temperatures are expected to reach the mid to high 90s around the City of Santa Clara.
Visitors to the cooling center are required to adhere to County Public Health Department guidelines and must not have Covid-19 symptoms. People must also practice social distancing and wear masks.
