Sheriff’s deputy dies after ‘courageous fight’ against Covid-19

An Alameda County sheriff’s deputy died Thursday evening due to complications from Covid-19, sheriff’s officials said.

Deputy Oscar Rocha died at 6:45 p.m. The 25-year veteran of the force was in his mid-50s.

According to sheriff’s officials:

“He put up a courageous fight to the end and will never be forgotten.”
