Two overnight shootings injure one boy, three men

Police are investigating after four people were injured in shootings overnight in East San Jose.

In the first shooting about 11:15 p.m. Thursday, a boy suffered at least one gunshot wound in the 100 block of S. 24th St.

The youth, whose age was not released, was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Officers responded to another shooting at 12:46 a.m. Friday in the 2700 block of Kollmar Drive, where three men had been hit by gunfire. All three were hospitalized, including one with life-threatening injuries.

Investigators are trying to determine if the shootings are related. No suspects have been arrested.

Earlier in the week, 15-year-old Uriel Mendiola Zepeda was fatally shot in the 1900 block of Senter Road, authorities said. Zepeda, a San Jose resident, was found about 12:15 p.m. Wednesday with at least one gunshot wound, authorities said.

No arrests have been made. Zepeda’s death is the city’s 19th homicide this year, police said.
