A brush fire that burned 300 acres overnight along Interstate Highway 580 near the Altamont Pass is 100 percent contained, Alameda County fire officials said about 9:30 a.m. Friday.
The blaze was sparked by a non-injury car crash just before midnight Thursday on I-580 at North Flynn Road, according to the Alameda County Fire Department.
Last night at 11:48 pm, FF’s responded to a veg fire at 580 and North Flynn. The fire was over 300 acres and is now 100% contained. The cause of the fire was a non-injury TC. The fire temporarily closed down lanes in both directions on the freeway, the California Highway Patrol said.
The freeway reopened about 4:30 a.m. Friday.
