Fires are burning in Rodeo and Benicia Monday afternoon, adding to a number of fire incidents over the course of the last three days.
Officials with the Contra Costa Fire Protection District said via Twitter at 3:06 p.m. that the Rodeo fire east of Interstate Highway 80 between Cummings Skyway and Willow Avenue had burned approximately 60 acres. Cal Fire was assisting the effort by air.
A Con Fire update shortly after 4 p.m. said no structures were threatened at the time and that Cummings Skyway is closed to traffic.
Another three-alarm fire is burning alongside Interstate Highway 680 North on the southbound side of the Benicia Bridge, prompting California Highway Patrol to temporarily stop all bridge traffic due to heavy smoke.
The Metropolitan Transportation Commission, which provides 511 traffic information, has since reported that the right and center lanes have since reopened, thought the left lane remains closed.
