Crews control Oakland brushfire near site another 2.5-acre blaze last weekend

Multiple units contained a brushfire Friday afternoon at Mountain Boulevard and Fontaine Court next to Interstate Highway 580, the Oakland Fire Department said.

The cause of the fire, reported shortly before 5 p.m., is under investigation, officials said.

The site is near the location of a fire last Sunday that burned 2.5 acres west of the freeway that officials said was caused by fireworks.
