Dry heat strikes Bay Area through Thursday

Much warmer and drier conditions are forecast for Wednesday and Thursday, according to the National Weather Service, with sunny skies expected across the Bay Area.

San Francisco can expect highs in the mid 70s, before cooling to the mid 50s Wednesday night.

Berkeley will reach highs in the low 80s with light and variable winds in the morning, with cooler temperatures in the upper 50s at night.

San Jose is forecast to have highs in the upper 80s, with 5 to 10 mph winds in the morning.

The forecast has Concord reaching 98 degrees at the Thursday peak.

Calistoga is expected to reach temperatures in the high 80s, with light north northeast winds.

Thursday is forecast to bring even warmer weather, before cooling down towards the end of the week.
