According to witness accounts, police are walking along the shoulder and California Highway Patrol vehicles are attempting to make their way through to respond to the car caravan Black Lives Matter “civic demonstration.”

A small number of vehicles reportedly began trickling through at about 5:30 p.m. The Bay Bridge demonstration was happening at the same time that protesters were marching along the Embarcadero.
