Saturday brushfire burns 60 acres at Round Valley Regional Preserve

The cause of an afternoon brushfire that burned about 60 acres Saturday at Round Valley Regional Preserve, 19450 Marsh Creek Road in Brentwood, is under investigation by Cal Fire.

The fire was reported about 4:15 p.m. and had burned about 20 acres when crews arrived, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District said.

Units from the ECCFPD, Contra Costa Fire District, the East Bay Regional Park District and Cal Fire attacked the blaze on the ground, and helicopters from Cal Fire and the Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office conducted aerial water drops.

There were no injuries or damage to structures reported.
