Firefighters with the San Jose Fire Department have nearly extinguished a three-alarm fire in an abandoned strip mall along South Bascom Avenue on Wednesday afternoon, a department spokesperson said.
The department has not declared the blaze under control yet, but its size has been reduced, according to the fire department. The fire was first reported around 1:15 p.m. and was originally classified as a two-alarm blaze before being upgraded to three alarms around 2 p.m.
No one is believed to be injured as a result of the fire, according to the fire department. Firefighters had not yet established a cause of the blaze as of 3 p.m.
