Police investigate fatal shooting of 19-year-old in Portola neighborhood

Police in San Francisco are investigating the death of a 19-year-old man Thursday night in the city’s Portola neighborhood.

According to police, officers learned of a shooting at Felton and Colby streets just after 8 p.m.

There, officers found a 19-year-old man on the sidewalk suffering from what looked like gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The victim has been identified by the city’s medical examiner as Kelvin Chew, a San Francisco resident.

Police didn’t immediately provide a description of the suspect or suspects involved in the shooting.

Police are asking anyone who may have information about the case to contact their anonymous 24-hour tipline at (415) 575-4444 or to text a tip to TIP411 with “SFPD” at the beginning of the message.
