Three Bayview District fires spark minutes apart, one person suffers critical injuries in series of

San Francisco firefighters responded to three separate one-alarm fires, reported minutes apart late Tuesday night in and around the city’s Bayview District.

At around 11 p.m., firefighters responded to a fire at 625 Girard St. Minutes later at 11:05 p.m. they learned of another fire at 366 Bayshore Blvd., followed by a report at 11:11 p.m. of a third fire near the corner of Wallace Avenue and Ingalls Street.

The fire on Girard Street caused two people to be treated for minor injuries, fire officials said.

The second fire on Bayshore Boulevard turned out to be a wildfire that resulted in no damage to any structures or injuries, but caused a slowdown on northbound U.S. Highway 101 due to smoke.

The first two fires appear to be accidental, according to fire officials.

The third fire near Wallace Avenue and Ingalls Street appears to have started outside before causing a shed-style structure to catch fire, resulting in one person suffering life-threatening injuries. That victim remains in critical condition, fire officials said Wednesday.

A cause for that fire has not been determined and remains under investigation, according to fire officials.
