Spilled nails prompt Fairfield intersection closure

An intersection in Fairfield is closed Thursday morning because of a large quantity of spilled nails in the roadway, police said.

Fairfield police issued an advisory at 8:30 a.m. about the spill in the area of Oliver Road and Woodcreek Drive, located just west of Interstate Highway 80 and Travis Boulevard.

Fairfield Police Department The intersection of Oliver Road and Woodcreek Drive in Fairfield, Calif. was shut down Thursday, April 9, 2020 due to a large quantity of nails spilled on the roadway.

The intersection is expected to be closed until later Thursday morning while public works crews clean up the spill.

Police said in the advisory:

“Avoid the area unless you are okay with your tire popping!”
