The Washington Post is reporting that they obtained an IRS internal document stating that CARES Act stimulus payments could be electronically submitted by direct deposit beginning April 9. It should be noted that banks may not post payments to accounts until closer to April 17. Qualified people who haven’t provided valid bank account information will receive paper checks that could take several months to be delivered due to distribution staggering based on income level — individuals or married couples reporting the least income on their 2019 or 2018 tax returns will receive checks first.
