Berkeley intersection shut down down after semi strikes power pole

A collision Friday morning involving a semi-truck and a power pole has temporarily closed down a Berkeley intersection, according to police.

The crash occurred about 7:45 a.m. at Hopkins Street and Monterey Avenue, police said.

PG&E is at the scene making repairs and motorists should plan to take an alternate route, police said.
