Suspect to be arraigned in connection with group home fatal stabbing

A man is scheduled to be arraigned in Sonoma County Superior Court Tuesday afternoon in connection with the stabbing homicide of a woman who operated a group home residence in Cotati.

Cotati police responded to the homicide around 3:45 p.m. Friday. The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office identified the victim as 33-year-old Sylvia Bracamonte of Santa Rosa.

The suspect, Anderson Quinonez-Cabeza, 18, of Cotati, was immediately detained inside the home and was booked into Sonoma County Jail under no bail on suspicion of homicide.

Police from Cotati, Cloverdale, Healdsburg and Rohnert Park and the Sonoma County District Attorney’s Office are investigating the case.

The arraignment is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. in Department 9 of Sonoma County Superior Court.
