Police arrest three LA County residents in connection with homicide

San Jose police have arrested three Los Angeles County residents in connection to the 2016 homicide of a 26-year-old San Jose man, police reported Wednesday.

Justin Tran, 26, was shot and killed in the 1700 block of Cape Aston Court in East San Jose on June 27, 2016. Three of the four suspects; Jorge Fernandez, 45; Ruben Larios Lopez, 27; and Janine Marie Cordova, 30, were in custody in various facilities throughout the state, and are now awaiting extradition, according to police.

The fourth suspect, 25-year-old Myung Jin Kim, has a warrant out for his arrest.

In 2016, police said Tran’s murder was connected to Asian cafes in San Jose, some of which are associated with Vietnamese criminal street gangs. Police have not released any updated information surrounding the nature of the homicide.
