An elderly man was arrested after allegedly shooting his caretaker at a residence near Novato on Wednesday morning, the Marin County Sheriff’s Office said.
Sheriff’s deputies responded around 8:30 a.m. to the shooting in the 800 block of Atherton Avenue in unincorporated Marin County, Sgt. Brenton Schneider said.
The caretaker was able to grab a gun from the elderly man and a witness took the caretaker to a hospital, Schneider said.
The victim is in stable condition and the elderly man was taken into custody at the residence, Schneider said. His name has not been released.
