A man was shot Thursday in East Oakland near a daycare and a school, police said.
Someone reported the shooting at 10:42 a.m. in the 3800 block of Maybelle Avenue near Happy Hearts Daycare and Oakland Garden School.
Officers responded and found the man suffering from a gunshot wound. He survived the shooting, police said.
Police provide no other details on the shooting.
