Police seek man who assaulted taqueria staff

San Francisco police are asking for the public’s help in finding a man suspected of aggravated assault at a restaurant in the Richmond District on Super Bowl Sunday earlier this month.

According to police, the suspect entered the restaurant in the 5400 block of Geary Boulevard at roughly 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 2 and appeared agitated and verbally abused the service staff.

The restaurant attempted to assuage the man’s anger by giving him food, but he proceeded to throw the food at the staff members in addition to a napkin dispenser and the restaurant’s electronic card reader, injuring an employee in the process. The man reportedly fled the restaurant on foot east down Geary Boulevard.

SFPD described the suspect as a Latino man believed to be between 45 and 50 years old, standing roughly 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing about 180 pounds. During the alleged assault, he was seen wearing blue jeans and a black San Francisco 49ers T-shirt with “Bosa 97” written on the back.
