Mt. Vision Road in the Marin County community of Inverness is currently closed to the public for a large-scale search and rescue effort seeking to located a missing couple who may have been hiking in the area.
The search started Saturday trying to locate Carol Kiparsky, 77, and her husband Ian Irwin, 72, who were last seen Friday at a rental house on Via de La Vista in Inverness/Sea Haven.
The Marin County Sheriff said via Twitter:
“(One hundred thirty-six) search and rescue members from all over the Bay Area have commenced search and rescue efforts this morning in Inverness. We will be searching from both the air and ground today.”
Kiparsky is 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighs 115 pounds, and has gray hair and blue eyes. Irwin is a 6-foot-1-inch tall man, weighs about 175 pounds and has blue eyes. He is balding, but has some gray hair.
Deputies do not know what clothing they may be wearing.
