BART El Cerrito del Norte station closed due to officer-involved shooting

The BART El Cerrito del Norte station is currently closed due to an officer-involved shooting Saturday afternoon, according to a BART news update issued via Twitter shortly after 2:30 p.m.

BART officials said in the statement that the person is wounded but still alive. Further incident details have not yet been released but officials say more information is to come.

Trains are being turned back at North Berkeley station. AC Transit buses 72 and 72M are running parallel service to Richmond and El Cerrito Plaza Station, according to BART.
