San Francisco police are investigating a body found in a lake in Golden Gate Park on Sunday morning, a police spokesman said.
Officers responded at 8:51 a.m. to Elk Glen Lake, located north of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and west of Crossover Drive, on a report of a body floating in the water, police Sgt. Mike Andraychak said.
Fire crews were able to recover the body from the water. The medical examiner’s office took custody of the body and is working to identify the person and their cause of death.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the San Francisco police 24-hour tip line at (415) 575-4444 or to send a tip by text message to TIP411 and begin the message with “SFPD.”
