Bicyclist dies in collision with vehicle on Port Chicago Highway

A 54-year-old woman riding a bicycle died Friday morning after she collided with a car on Port Chicago Highway, Concord police said.

The woman’s name has not been released pending notification of family.

The vehicle was headed northbound on the highway when it collided with the bicyclist near Panoramic Drive about 6:21 a.m., according to police.

The 68-year-old Vallejo man driving the car remained at the scene and cooperated with police, authorities said.

Drugs or alcohol don’t appear to be factors in the crash, police said.

The collision is under investigation and police didn’t release any other details.
