The San Francisco Fire Department is reporting a gas leak and evacuation and shelter-in-place orders have been issued for multiple buildings in the area of 11th and Harrison streets.
The initial notification posted at 12:48 p.m. said:
“(A) police officer or firefighter will be at your door if you need to evacuate.”
An update provided by SFFD at 1:05 p.m. explains that the leak was caused by a construction crew that hit an 8-inch line and that PG&E is at the scene.
Update; 1:14 p.m.:
Fire department officials report that gas has been shut off and evacuated buildings will be repopulated. However, Harrison Street between Norfolk and 11th streets will be closed to traffic for one hour. No injuries were reported.
