Man breaks legs in solo crash into tree

A male driver suffered broken legs Thursday morning when his BMW crashed sideways into a tree on Leisure Town Road near Hawkins Road in Vacaville, a fire battalion chief said.

The crash happened around 7 a.m., and it took around 45 minutes to free the injured, trapped driver from the vehicle, Vacaville Fire Battalion Chief Matt Lage said.

The driver was conscious and alert when he was taken to Kaiser Permanente Vacaville Medical Center, and the crash closed the road until around 8 a.m., Lage said.
