West Oakland standoff continues near elementary school

A standoff is continuing on Monday afternoon at an unpermitted marijuana grow house in West Oakland where a commercial burglary was reported earlier in the day, police said.

Officers responded at 3:53 a.m. Monday to the burglary in the 2700 block of Adeline Street, which is near Vincent Academy, a charter school that serves students in kindergarten through fifth grade, and McClymonds High School.

Police said one person has been arrested and one firearm has been recovered, but they believe additional suspects who may be armed are still inside the house.
