San Jose structure blaze injures firefighter

One first responder went to the hospital following a structure fire in San Jose Tuesday afternoon, San Jose Fire Department officials said.

A firefighter fell and went to a hospital Tuesday afternoon after dispatch received a call of the fire at about 2:45 p.m. in the 100 block of N. 16th Street.

The firefighter’s injuries were not considered life-threatening, SJFD spokesperson Erica Ray said.

The fire was contained at about 3:30 p.m. and no residents were inside at the time of the fire, Ray said.
