Woman killed in Vasco Road collision identified

A woman who died in a head-on collision in eastern Contra Costa County early Saturday morning has been identified by the county coroner’s office as 44-year-old Discovery Bay resident Tina Ha.

The crash was reported at 3:04 a.m. Saturday on Vasco Road just south of Camino Diablo.

Ha was driving a 2019 Nissan sedan that collided head-on with a 2007 Acura SUV driven by a 34-year-old East Palo Alto woman, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A preliminary investigation determined that the Acura was heading south on Vasco when, for some reason, it veered left across the double-yellow line and struck Ha’s northbound Nissan, CHP officials said.

Ha died at the scene while the Acura driver was taken to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek with major injuries, according to the CHP.

Anyone who has information about the crash is asked to call the CHP’s Contra Costa-area office at (925) 646-4980.
