Power outage strikes more than 3,000 Palo Alto customers

About 3,300 customers are out of power Wednesday evening in Palo Alto, a spokesperson for City of Palo Alto Utilities said.

The power went out at about 4:30 p.m. and is affecting residents from Alma Street to East Bayshore Road and Homer Avenue to Loma Verde Avenue, spokesperson Catherine Elvert said.

Crews are en route and will be working to determine the cause. Elvert said power may be restored by 8 p.m.

Residents can monitor the outage online at www.cityofpaloalto.org/outagemap. The map may load slowing.

Elvert also wanted to remind residents to avoid calling 911 unless it’s an emergency.
