A two-alarm fire damaged three apartments and displaced 12 people at an apartment complex in San Pablo on Monday, a Contra Costa County Fire Protection District spokesman said.
The fire was reported at 11:18 a.m. at a building in the 1800 block of Rumrill Boulevard near Market Avenue, fire spokesman Steve Hill said.
Firefighters responded and extinguished the blaze by 11:43 a.m., but not before it caused major damage to three units. Twelve residents — six adults and six children — have been displaced and the American Red Cross responded to assist them, Hill said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, he said.
