Caldecott Tunnel bore to close for three hours Monday night

One westbound bore of the Caldecott Tunnel between Orinda and Oakland will be closed Monday night starting at 9:30 p.m., according to Caltrans.

The closure will be in effect until 12:30 a.m. Tuesday for the annual fire extinguisher inspections in the tunnel.

Caltrans officials said the closure may cause traffic delays and drivers should allow for extra travel time through the area. Signs will be in place to help motorists navigate the closure.
