An Amber Alert has been lifted for a 2-year-old girl who went missing from San Jose Sunday night. The child and her father were located Monday, according to an update provided by the California Highway Patrol shortly after 11:00 a.m.
It has been reported that the father abducted his young daughter after he allegedly assaulted and stabbed the girl’s mother in San Jose on Sunday night and then fled, according to police.
Officers responded to the 500 block of S. 11th St. around 10:04 p.m. Sunday to a report of a woman screaming, Officer Gina Tepoorten said. A woman was found suffering from at least one stab wound and was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The suspect is the victim’s boyfriend, 24-year-old Victor Magana, who Tepoorten said left the scene with the couple’s daughter, identified by the CHP as 2-year-old Bethanie Carraza.
An Amber Alert was issued at about 2:17 a.m. for Carraza and was lifted at 11:01 a.m., the CHP said. No further details have been provided.
