A special pop-up exhibit display to commemorate the 75th anniversary of America’s first full-length Nutcracker ballet will debut along side the show’s holiday season run in San Francisco, which starts Wednesday, San Francisco Ballet officials said.
The Nutcracker will be performed starting Wednesday through Sunday, Dec. 29 at the War Memorial Opera House at 301 Van Ness Ave. A show ticket is required to see the pop-up exhibit provided by the San Francisco Museum of Performance and Design.
The first full-length Nutcracker in the U.S. was performed on Christmas Eve in 1944 at the War Memorial Opera House before the show traveled to Oakland, Sacramento and Stockton.
Wednesday’s show starts at 7 p.m. For tickets, visit sfballet.org.
