Emergency crews responded Saturday morning after an officer-involved shooting was reported about 8:34 a.m. in San Francisco’s Mission District.
San Francisco police are investigating and posted on Twitter that the public should avoid the area of 23rd and Mission streets.
According to an update provided by officials at 10:46 a.m., officers responded to a “hot prowl burglary” at 23rd and Capp streets and located a person matching the suspect description. Police say the suspect was shot after assaulting an officer with a “weapon.”
Both the suspect and the officer have been taken to a hospital. No further information has been given regarding the condition of either.
