Pittsburg apartment shooting takes life of 29-year-old man

A 29-year-old man died in a shooting at an apartment complex in Pittsburg early Friday morning, police said.

Officers responded at about 2:30 a.m. Friday to a report of a shooting at the Belmont Apartments complex in the 1000 block of Power Avenue.

They arrived and found Televe Johnson suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his torso. He was transported to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek but succumbed to his injuries about 12 hours later, according to police.

Google Maps Twelve Johnson, 29, died in a hospital Friday, November 29, 2019 after he was shot multiple times at an apartment in the 1000 block of Power Avenue in Pittsburg, Calif.

Investigators learned that Johnson was at a family gathering at a home in Antioch and then drove back to the apartment complex in Pittsburg. As he was walking to his apartment, someone shot him several times and then fled, police said.

No arrest has been made in the fatal shooting and no description of the suspect has been released. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Pittsburg police at (925) 252-4040.
