Power outage shuts down Monterey County administrative offices

The Monterey County Administrative Office building in Salinas is closed for the rest of the day Tuesday because of an unexpected power outage, county officials said.

The building at 168 W. Alisal St. closed at 1:30 p.m. because of the outage, and while no timeline was immediately available for when power will be restored, county officials anticipate opening the building for business as usual on Wednesday.

The outage is not affecting courtrooms or the East West Wing building, according to the county.
