An alleged hammer attack Thursday night in San Francisco’s Russian Hill neighborhood involving two elderly men resulted in one of the men being hospitalized, police said.
Around 8:30 p.m., officers responded to a report of an assault at the corner of Mason and Vallejo streets, according to police.
The victim, described as an 82-year-old man, was standing on the corner when a suspect allegedly approached him and struck him with a hammer.
The suspect, described as an 80-year-old man, then fled police said.
The victim was taken to a hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening, according to police.
Officers were unable to locate the suspect.
