Berkeley police arrested a 37-year-old man in the fourth week of July 2019 as a suspect in a series of sexual batteries where female bicyclists were targeting in the area surrounding University of California at Berkeley in Berkeley, Calif.
Law enforcement officials have arrested a man in connection with a shooting that occurred earlier this month in Berkeley, according to the Berkeley Police Department.
On Wednesday, members of with the FBI and the U.S. Marshals Service arrested Jucari Anderson, 42, of San Pablo, on a warrant for assault with a deadly weapon and other weapons-related crimes, police said.
On Nov. 10 at 2:36 a.m., officers responded to the 2400 block of Durant Avenue on a report of gunfire and located a man in his 20s suffering from a at least one gunshot wound.
The man was taken to a hospital in serious condition.
During an investigation, officers located a handgun used in the shooting and learned the suspect fired into the direction of a crowd of people.
Police said the injured man was an innocent bystander.
Investigators were able to identify Anderson as the suspect in the shooting, and he was taken into custody on Wednesday.
Police said the shooting is one of several incidents of gunfire that occurred in the area surrounding the UC Berkeley campus this year.
