A hiker discovered a man’s body in a remote part of John Henry Johnson Park south of Pittsburg on Thursday, according to the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office.
The hiker found the body shortly after 5 p.m. and reported it to the sheriff’s office. Sheriff’s officials said it appears the body had been there for a long period of time.

The coroner’s office is trying to determine the man’s identity and will conduct an autopsy to determine cause of death.
