Police identify slain Vacaville woman, DA charges son

Vacaville police have identified a woman who died allegedly at the hands of her son on Thursday as Germaine Riley, 59, of Vacaville.

Riley’s 21-year-old son Shane Riley was arrested and booked into Solano County Jail Thursday on suspicion of the homicide. The Solano County District Attorney’s Office filed a complaint against him Friday.

Police dispatchers who received a 911 open line call around 7 a.m. Thursday heard a woman screaming in the background. They found a woman who had been stabbed multiple times in a residence in the 900 block of Rio Grande Drive, police Lt. Mark Donaldson said.

Shane Riley was identified as the victim’s son and he was taken into custody. Germaine Riley’s husband, who also lives in the home, was out of the country on business, Donaldson said.

Police have received four or five calls involving arguments at the home over the past three years, Donaldson said.
