Charging centers open Sunday for Contra Costa County residents without power

Contra Costa County residents who lose power during the Public Safety Power Shutoff can recharge medical and mobile devices from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at five locations of the county Employment and Human Services Department.

Locations that will be open are at 4545 Delta Fair Blvd. in Antioch, 400 Ellinwood Way in Pleasant Hill, 151 Linus Pauling Drive in Hercules, 1305 Macdonald Ave. in Richmond and 40 Douglas Drive in Martinez.

In addition, PG&E will have a Community Resource Center at the front parking lot of St. Mary’s College at 1928 St. Mary’s Road in Moraga. The PG&E center will operate from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. beginning Sunday and will provide charging stations, water and snacks.

There will also be a charging station available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday in the lobby the Lafayette Police Department, 3471 Mt. Diablo Blvd. in Lafayette.
