Fire destroys home, displaces three near Sebastopol

A fire displaced three men from a single-story residence west of Sebastopol in rural Sonoma County on Friday morning, Gold Ridge Fire Protection District Chief Shepley Schroth-Cary said.

A passerby reported the fire in the 11000 block of Bodega Highway between Jonive Road and Silala Lane around 5 a.m., and two-thirds of the residence was burning when firefighters arrived, Schroth-Cary said. Firefighters kept the flames that destroyed the residence from burning more than a half-acre of vegetation, and the fire was controlled by 9 a.m. No injuries were reported, Schroth-Cary said.

Firefighters from Cal Fire, Occidental, Sebastopol, Graton also responded, Schroth-Cary said.
