San Francisco police announced Tuesday the arrest of a suspect believed to be involved in an auto burglary near the Hall of Justice.
Police officials said on Sept. 23 at around 10:18 a.m., officers on bike patrol in the area of Russ and Natoma streets observed a person sitting on the sidewalk with several bags and obstructing right-of-way traffic.
Officers identified the suspect as 32-year-old Jessica Didia of San Francisco through a computer search and discovered that she was currently on probation.
Officers searched the bags and found several items marked with two different names and the name of a school.
Students from that school had been on a field trip to the Hall of Justice and returned back to their vehicle to find items stolen from the vehicle, including computers, backpacks and calculators, police officials said.
Didia was booked on charges of receiving stolen property, obstructing the sidewalk and probation violation.
Police officials said the stolen items were returned to the students.
