Pedestrian suffers life-threatening injuries in Clayton collision

A pedestrian was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries Saturday evening after being struck by a vehicle, Clayton police said. The accident was reported about 8:30 p.m. in the area of Clayton Road and Lydia Lane and officers arrived within two minutes to find the pedestrian suffering traumatic injuries.

The driver remained on scene and was cooperative with the investigation. Police said the investigation is ongoing, but that intoxication did not appear to be a factor in the collision. Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call Sgt. Jason Shaw at (925) 673-7350.
