Police find library damage but no suspect, victim in SJSU shooting

The library at San Jose State University was damaged when gunshots were fired Thursday evening, university officials said.

Reports of shots fired came in at 6:21 p.m. near the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Library at East San Fernando and South Fourth streets in downtown San Jose.

Police did not immediately locate a suspect or victim. A 17-year-old was found in possession of a semi-automatic handgun and knife and was arrested the day prior.

University officials said university and San Jose police responded. San Jose police are conducting an investigation. No one has been identified as a suspect and no one was injured.
