Person hit by BART train at Bay Fair station alive, station reopens

BART’s Bay Fair station reopened late Wednesday afternoon following a collision involving a person, BART officials said. As of 4:54 p.m. the station at 15242 Hesperian Blvd. in San Leandro was open again.

The person hit by the train is alive and has been taken to a hospital, according to BART officials, who said the train strike appeared to be accidental.

BART police are investigating the collision, BART officials said.
