Berkeley celebrates 45th annual Solano Stroll

Berkeley police are reminding the public this weekend that Solano Avenue is closed to motor traffic until 7 p.m. Sunday between San Pablo Avenue and The Alameda in Albany and Berkeley for the 45th annual Solano Stroll.

The stroll is billed as the East Bay’s largest street festival of the year, attracting some 250,000 people to the one-mile length of the avenue for food, entertainment, activities and other attractions.

Motorists should expect traffic delays in the area and plan alternate routes.

It is recommended that those attending the event come by walking, bicycling or using public transportation. A free shuttle to the event runs from the North Berkeley BART station and the El Cerrito Plaza BART station is less than a mile from Solano.
